Sound Isolation
Walls, Floor-Ceilings, Doors, Windows
Room Acoustic Analysis focused on how sound behaves in an enclosed space. Many factors impact the room acoustics of a space, but the most common metric used is the reverberation time (RT). Rooms with the right of reverberation time support speech, music, or other activities. Too much RT can muddy speech and make it hard for people to understand each other. Too little RT can make a room feel dry and not support certain music performances. Room acoustics analyses are common for performance spaces, concert halls, large lecture halls, and conference rooms. When analyzing the room acoustics, it is also appropriate to consider sound isolation design and mechanical noise control for the space.
